Perfecting the Canvas Workshop @ The Makeup Show this Sunday!

How do I know what color and product to use on the skin?

How can I cover up those dark circles?

What can I do to cover breakouts?

How do I cover up hyperpigmentation, sunspots, and scarring on all skin tones?

How can I highlight and contour to bring out features while keeping the makeup natural looking?

What are the differences in creating flawless skin for print editorials, vs tv, vs red carpet/events?

What products do you use?

What are your preferred tools for working on the skin?

I’ll be answering all this and more in my “Perfecting the Canvas” class at The Makeup Show in NY this Sunday, the 13th. Come with your questions and brushes and let me help you conquer any roadblocks you might be running into when looking to create the perfect canvas. Contact info@themakeupshow.com now as seats are very limited!

My hubby saw this of Andrej and noticed I was doing makeup in the background. lol. The makeup for the Yoana Baraschi show (keyed by Lottie for Make Up For Ever was amazing and so fun to do!) My good friend Stella did makeup for Andrej.

Recent work I did with the ladies of The Real Housewives of DC for OK! Magazine. Make sure to tune into Bravo, each Thursday at 9pm EST to see the ladies tell their stories. I had the pleasure of working with these ladies on a number of the episodes. They are really great (and funny as hell) and I’m looking forward to see how their stories come to light for the public. :)

New Discovery (for me) that delivers? Loreal Paris Studio Secrets Primer

Loreal Paris Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base

This was given to me in a little goodie bag at the last New York Makeup Show at the Loreal Paris booth. I decided to try it out on myself since my skin has always been out of whack in not being able to decide whether it’s dry, oily, uneven, rough, the list goes on and on. I slathered a bit of this onto my face and I have been using it ever since! I’ve even been able to go out without foundation on, wearing this alone. Definitely give this dream product a try. I can’t believe I’ve gone so long without it!

The 2010 “Couture for a Cure” show featuring DKNY

Very honored to be heading up the makeup team for this event. Please take a moment to read about the cause and consider contributing, attending, or supporting the event. Hope to see DC’s finest out tomorrow night!

Couture for a Cure will make Washington, D.C. fashion history on May 25, 2010 with legendary New York fashion house DKNY presenting its Spring 2010 collection for the first time in our nation’s capital. The Second Annual Couture for a Cure Runway Show will be at the Kogod Lobby of the Woolly Mammoth Theatre in DC’s vibrant Penn Quarter neighborhood from 6:30 to 10:00 pm to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Sponsored by Microsoft and Niche Media’s Capitol File Magazine, this year’s Couture for a Cure will honor former cancer survivors with a runway presentation hosted by master and mistress of ceremonies WJLA News reporter Scott Thuman and Hot 99.5 personality Sarah Fraser.

Couture for a Cure celebrates the triumphs and hurdles of former cancer survivors, who will be honored with a tribute to those lost and a celebration of those who’ve beat cancer. This year’s honorees have contributed greatly to the Washington community through their involvement in philanthropy, entertainment and business. The 2010 Couture for a Cure honorees are Accenture Senior Executive Ken Dineen, Peacock Café owners Shahab and Micky Farivar, the 2009 LLS Man & Woman of the Year Hap Peden and Ari Jones, who raised a combined total of over $200,000 towards LLS, and Jennifer Harlow of the Tigerlily Foundation.

Stephanie March for the 2010 White House Correspondent’s Dinner. She wanted to go with a Brigitte Bardot inspired look for the evening without taking it too literal. Her ideal inspired me for the shoot I was doing with Luis the next day.
