Behind the Scenes of an upcoming editorial for Washington Life Magazine. I’ll excuse that lovely Tim Coburn said that hair AND makeup was done by James, but it’s because he is used to it being that way haha! I did makeup for this shoot using Face Atelier and Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics. Looking forward to seeing it out on stands the end of March! ~Kat
I was looking through old links I had favorited and came across this one, one that makes me question if a ton of my followers came as a byproduct of this article on Gawker introducing me as Demi Moore’s “stylist”. Looking back this is pretty hilarious, but shows just how powerful Social Media can be. I noticed a huge spike in followers after this quick article came out and after she added me to her friends list. I then realized that people actually DO go through their fave stars friends list and add everyone they have as well. I am not sure the purpose of it, but I am sure there are a bunch of people who could care less about what I have to say about makeup following me. haha!
For the record: The only conversation I have had with Demi since we worked together on Inauguration Day has been about Chipotle burritos on Twitter…which by the way had nearly 100 retweets. lol!!
I just can’t even imagine having that much of a response on twitter. I would never see anyone’s actual thoughts between all the retweets! I am in awe of the celebrities who reach out on twitter and actually keep up with it (and can’t say I really blame them if they have someone else handling all the traffic!).
Obsessive and Compulsive -Behind The Make Up (via pursebuzz)
David Klasfeld from Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics has always been such a support system throughout my makeup artist career. His liptars, pigments and OCC Skin airbrush foundation is front and center in my makeup kit and I have an overwhelming feeling his new Vegan line of brushes I just got from the LA Makeup Show will be as well. I loved this interview that Elessa of “Purse Buzz” did with him. It showed the depth to the line and the work that goes on constantly behind it. It also gives us an ideal of what is to come!
David, Katie and the rest of the team deserve all the success they get!

Andrej Pejic, Backstage interview at the Yoana Baraschi Fall 2011 Show | From Scanpix
My hubby saw this of Andrej and noticed I was doing makeup in the background. lol. The makeup for the Yoana Baraschi show (keyed by Lottie for Make Up For Ever was amazing and so fun to do!) My good friend Stella did makeup for Andrej.
Looks like I’m seeing the first of the Rocawear campaign I did with Trey Songz in Puerto Rico! Can’t wait to see the rest (shown in March/April issues of XXL and Juicy magazine)
